What are your hours of operation? 8:30-3:00 with after care option from 3:00-4:30
What is your teacher to student ratio? 1 : 8
Can I be involved in my child's classroom? At String Bean Farm School we believe in the importance of family involvement. We encourage you to take an active role in your child's education but unfortunately volunteer opportunities have been placed on hold due to the pandemic.
Do you have COVID 19 policies and procedures in place? Absolutely a copy of our policies can be provided upon request.
Do you have a parent handbook? Yes a copy can be provided upon request.
Is your program year round? Yes, but our summer is filled with weekly themes, activities and fun you would find at summer camp.
Do you observe holidays? Yes, we observe the following holidays New Years Day, Martin Luther King Day, Presidents Day, Patriots Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day (closed the Friday before as well as labor day), Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving (closed on Thanksgiving and the day after) , Christmas Eve, Christmas. We also close for professional development days.
Do you have snow days? Yes, we have the same snow day closures as the Cape Elizabeth School system. If they are closed due to inclement weather we are as well.
What animals will my child be exposed to? Children will have opportunities for hands on learning with chickens.
Seasonal Produce
Our students have the opportunity to grow and harvest fruits, vegetable, flowers and fall mums to sell at out school farm stand. All of the proceeds go back into our school and assist our scholarship program..

Our ladies are working hard to provide beautiful eggs for our school farm stand.
Organic Compost
All of our left over food scraps are fed to our chickens and our worm farm.
We harvest the worm castings to create a nutritious tea to feedto our plants.
